On the Road to Morocco…

road-to-morocco-title-stillHow often can you say and really mean that!

I’m about to embark on a seven day whirlwind travel experience to Morocco with five other travel professionals.  As invited guests of the Moroccan Tourist Board we will travel to Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech (start singing), Fez and the coastal resorts at Essaouira.

The road will be easily traveled at five star hotels and we have reservations at truly, world class restaurants.  The itinerary has us hitting the ground and running from the moment we land in Casablanca to late each evening over seven days.

I am thrilled plenty of time has been built in to meet with people — at Berber villages along our routes between cities; with students at universities; the merchants at the souks; and, with our Moroccan colleagues specializing in the travel industry.

I hope the outcome will match the objective of our hosts — increasing the number of visitors from the United States.  Presently, most tourists arrive from France and Spain. If my excitement generated from pre-trip research and current itinerary description meets the experience on the ground — I will promote to my clients and network: think of Morocco as your next destination!

I appreciate the opportunity to explore and report back to my friends in the U.S. my findings over the next week.  Sign up for my blog postings,  ‘Like,’ my Facebook page and there is always Twitter.
